Maggie Yonker, LLmsw
I I believe every person deserves to be met with unconditional positive regard, respect, compassion, and dignity. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you feel safe showing up exactly as you are.
Therapy should be a place where you can speak openly, explore difficult emotions and experiences, and feel genuinely heard and understood. I also believe growth sometimes requires stepping outside of our comfort zones, so I strive to create a balance between offering support and gently challenging you to grow at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach draws from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems, and person-centered therapy. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work to understand what you need and tailor our work together around your individual goals, strengths, experiences, and circumstances. At the core of my practice is a belief in accessible, holistic care that looks at the whole person—not just a diagnosis or the challenges that brought you to therapy. Our relationships, families, environments, identities, and life experiences can all influence our mental and emotional well-being, and I believe those pieces deserve to be understood and respected throughout the therapeutic process.
I work with clients ages 5 and older and have specialized experience supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and interpersonal aggression. I also work with children, adults, and families navigating relationship and family conflict, major life transitions, emotional challenges, and questions surrounding personal identity. I understand that no two people come to therapy with the same story, even when they may be experiencing similar challenges. One of the parts of this work I value most is building a genuine therapeutic relationship and getting to know each client as an individual.
Therapy can look different for everyone. You may be looking for a safe place to process something painful from your past, support while navigating a difficult season of life, help strengthening relationships or setting boundaries, or simply a space to better understand yourself. You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can start wherever you are and work together to determine what healing and growth look like for you.
Whether you're working through a specific challenge or looking for ongoing support as you make meaningful changes in your life, my goal is to walk alongside you throughout that process. I welcome clients from all walks of life and strive to make therapy a collaborative, compassionate, and empowering experience where you feel respected, supported, and comfortable being yourself.
